We are asking our members and partners to write to their MP to ask them to 'Drop In' to this event. This is a 'once in a year' chance to advocate for OL and MPs do respond to their constituents!
The MP event is hosted by Tim Farron MP and is a celebration of the achievements made during the last year and will give your MP a chance to explore how Outdoor Learning continues to respond to the challenges of today.
During the 'Drop In' MPs will have an opportunity to:
- Meet our Ambassador Nick Beighton, who will share his journey from 'Trauma to a New Normal' - one that begins in Shropshire, takes in Afghanistan, the Paralympics, championship climbing and a new career in helping struggling young people through Bushcraft.
- Three specialists will share progress and exemplar practice from the DfE Enrichment Curriculum and the DCMS National Youth Strategy.
- Nature - Benefits and Equity of Access
- Outdoors - Linking to Mental Health NHS/DfE live consultation
- Adventure - 'Adventures Away from Home' programme and guest Young Ambassador
- Learn about the MP Nature, Outdoor Adventure Day,12th June 2026 and checkout the digital map of Outdoor Learning providers in their constituency so they can go and experience the benefits of outdoor learning for themselves.
- Have a photograph taken to show their support for Outdoor Learning.
- Finish with a yummy taster of Outdoor Centre cooking!
Can we also remind everyone that you can add your provision to the Outdoor Learning Digital Map, so your local MP can easily find you. The map also has contact details for your local MP.
