Update on the High Borrans story

Summing up High Borrans POEC current situation

IOL CEO formal statement:

As the independent Chair, of the High Borrans Working Group,  it is my view that the Working Group has reached a natural conclusion and cannot add any further value.

The Working Group have shared and explored alternative governance and operational models. The role of the group members continues to be sharing the details of the Council's decision when published, using their extensive and varied networks.

In respect to this conclusion, I resigned as the Chair and the IOL stepped down from this group, with immediate effect on Thursday 24th September 2026 at 2pm.

I recognise and thank all the efforts and contributions of members.  I am mindful that some members have contributed under difficult circumstances. If there is valid future contribution that the IOL can make, the offer of support remains open.

Jo Barnett, Chief Executive of the IOL.
