Outdoor Education Graduate Assistant at Shrewsbury School

Shrewsbury School seeks to appoint a recent graduate or post-graduate to contribute to the School’s Outdoor Education programme.   

The successful candidate will be expected to deliver a range of Outdoor Education Activities within the school and assist with school trips and the Duke of Edinburgh programme. They will take responsibility for the management of the stores and inventory and will also contribute to the School’s thriving pastoral and co-curricular programmes. This post would be ideal for someone wishing to gain initial experience in the teaching profession and to gain key skills and knowledge in one of the country’s leading boarding schools.  

The post is for a fixed term of one year, with the option of extension by mutual consent. The successful candidate will be accommodated by the School and will also be able to enjoy a programme of continuous professional development.  

Outdoor Education at Shrewsbury is a very popular part of the co-curricular programme. All members of the Third Form take part in a range of Outdoor Education activities, with many choosing to continue throughout their time at school. The School runs a highly successful Duke of Edinburgh programme as well as a range of exciting trips, including most recently, climbing and trekking in the Pyrenees and biking in Morocco. 

A full induction programme is provided for all new members of staff, in addition to a programme of continuous professional development. All new members of staff are issued with a Microsoft device.
