Permanent, Full-time, 37 hours per week.

Do you have the skills to lead and inspire a team?

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Outdoor Education and Development Manager to join and grow the dynamic team in the beautiful Rother Valley Country Park.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement outdoor education programs with a focus on water sports such as kayaking, canoeing, and paddleboarding.

• Lead and manage a team of instructors, ensuring high standards of safety and quality in all activities.

• Collaborate with local schools, community groups, and organisations to promote outdoor education and water sports.

• Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making adjustments as needed to meet the needs of participants.

• Manage budgets, resources, and equipment for outdoor activities.

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and best practices.

• Maintain the Adventure Activity Licensing Authority (AALA) accreditation.

• Maintain the Royal Yachting Association RYA centre recognition 

Qualifications:

• Senior Sailing Instructor, Outdoor Education, Recreation Management, or a related field.

• Relevant experience in outdoor education and water sports.

• Strong leadership and team management skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Certification in water sports instruction (e.g., BCU, RYA).

• First Aid certification.

Rother Valley Country Park Water Sports Centre is a vibrant hub for water sports enthusiasts located in South Yorkshire, United Kingdom. The centre is situated around three large lakes, offering a variety of water-based activities and recreational opportunities. The main lake is the focal point for water sports, including sailing, stand-up paddleboarding, canoeing, and pedal boating.

You will be required to work regular anti-social hours involving evenings, weekends and bank holidays as required as part of the normal working week.

Experience of customer-driven employment is essential to this post.

Until 31st March 2026, employees paid at Band D and above are subject to a temporary pay reduction of 1.15% spread out by means of a monthly deduction from each pay period over the full financial year.
