Social Media Officer - Volunteer role home based
North Wales Mountain Rescue Association
Social Media Officer at North Wales Mountain Rescue Association
Can you make the difference? North Wales Mountain Rescue Association (NWMRA) is looking for a social media officer to help us continue to take important safety messaging to a wide range of communities.
Demand on mountain rescue teams continues to rise year on year, with almost two thirds of callouts in North Wales involving people not always fully understanding the risks involved, and the preparation required before setting off on a day’s adventure. This creates significant demands on our mountain rescue volunteers who give their time to train and develop the skills and expertise they need to then locate and rescue people who find themselves in difficulties.
Communications are key to sharing information which can help people to make more informed decisions before setting out on a day’s trek. Your work as Social Media Officer will not only help to keep people from risk of harm, contribute to reducing demand on our volunteer teams, but could also potentially help to save a life.
In return for volunteering a few hours a week you will become part of an enthusiastic team of volunteers who are passionate about the benefits of enjoying the great outdoors, and keen to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to do this safely. The role is home based, so it would be rare for you to be asked to travel.
In return we are looking for someone who shares our passion for keeping people safer and who can bring the skills and creativity to our social media platforms to make this happen.
Interested? You can contact our Media Officer at [email protected] with any questions, or for an informal chat.
