Centre Manager – Lea Green Learning & Development Centre
Full time, 37 hours | Sports, Outdoor & Residential Education (SORE)
Lea Green is one of the UK’s leading outdoor education and residential centres. We are seeking an experienced outdoor education manager with a proven track record of running busy, complex outdoor centres and leading multidisciplinary teams.
Working alongside a CoManager, you will provide operational leadership, safetycritical oversight, and strategic direction across all programmes, activities, and residential provision. You will ensure legal and safety compliance, maintain highquality delivery, oversee facilities and equipment, and support commercial growth. The role also includes linemanaging staff with a broad range of responsibilities, from instructional delivery to facilities, administration, and hospitality services, ensuring performance, development, and high standards across the whole team.
We are looking for someone with:
- Significant management experience in an outdoor education centre, including staff leadership and operational oversight
- Demonstrable experience managing staff teams with varied duties, responsibilities, and professional backgrounds
- Strong knowledge of safety management, safeguarding, and relevant legislation
- Experience of residential provision and working with young people with diverse and additional needs
- A minimum of three NGB awards for AALAregulated adventurous activities
- A relevant degree, teaching qualification, or JNC qualification, and a full driving licence
Pay & Benefits
- Salary (DCC Grade 12): £44,433–£47,925 (Grade 12 pay points 28–31)
- Annual leave: 27 days, rising to 32 days after 5 years’ service (excluding bank holidays)
- Pension: Membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS)
This role requires flexible working, including evenings and weekends (5/7 rota).
