Girlguiding Anglia is recruiting a Centre manager to lead and manage the Hautbois activity centre team. Working with the executive team, trustees, staff members, and lead volunteers, it is an interesting and diverse role within our fast paced and forward-thinking organisation.
We are looking for someone with an enthusiastic and positive outlook who can bring to the role a variety of skills and experience across key areas including:

Managing all aspects of service delivery at Hautbois Activity Centre while maintaining high standards of customer service, ensuring our guests receive a first-class customer experience

Oversee the delivery of the programme provided by Hautbois Activity Centre for residential and day visitors, guiding and non-guiding and ensure delivery meets all regulatory and sector specific requirements including, but not limited to, Learning Outside the Classroom; Safer Food Better Business; Health and Safety Executive

Support the team providing duty cover for evenings and weekends, ensuring high standards of customer service are maintained, providing additional cover as required and remote support, in particular in the event of managerial level decision making or crisis/disaster recovery

Deliver against objectives using data to highlight priorities, ensuring delivery is within budget and in line with the organisation’s environmental and sustainability objectives

Maintain good relationships with the local community in the Coltishall area

The job requires someone who enjoys a varied working day and thrives on managing diverse priorities and tasks in a positive and pro-active manner
Duties

Develop and review organisational policies and operating procedures relating to the management of the Hautbois Activity Centre, particularly in relation to all aspects of health and safety

Work with the executive manager to review and update the estate and activity centre risk registers

Supervise and support the catering manager, senior Hautbois operations officer and the senior instructor

Take the lead in all communications with the Hautbois and Estates Committee and the Friends of Hautbois, responding to and providing information to the Executive Committee as required

Monitor spend against budget in conjunction with the executive manager, finance manager and Hautbois and estates committee

Qualifications and experience

Educated to Degree Level or equivalent (preferably in a business studies related area)

Effective team management

Working in a customer focused environment

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Recruiting, training and supervising staff, including the management of daily rotas

Microsoft office programmes and the use of databases

Financial management, budgeting and reporting

Effective marketing and PR skills

Important information:
This role will require working some weekends and weekday evenings, time off in lieu will be given. Flexible working and occasional working from home may be possible subject to business need. The ability to drive is essential.
