Exciting Water Sports Management Opportunity.

Tees Barrage International White Water Centre & Air Trail Tees Barrage are looking to recruit a Centre Duty Manager.

Average 35.5 hours per week
£16.55 per hour

We looking to recruit to this key position to support the management and development of our unique site which offers a wide range of water sports and the largest high ropes course within the UK.

 

THE LOCATION

Tees Barrage International White-Water Centre is Teesside’s award-winning home of adventure. This magnificent centre of activity can be found on the banks of the River Tees between Stockton and Middlesbrough and offers a unique variety of water sports for the whole family from Stand Up Paddleboarding to White Water RaftingBell BoatingPaddlesportsPowerboat Trips and so much more.

Tees Barrage is also home to NorthShore Water Sports, the ultimate kayaking and canoeing store as well as Air Trail, the UK’s biggest high ropes adventure course.

 

THE ROLE

We are looking for an organised and motivated individual who will have responsibility for delivering high quality, safe and well delivered sessions to our varied client base, the day-to-day operation of the facility, ongoing staff development and oversee of our freelance staff team. You will be an experienced coach with the aptitude and maturity to lead a diverse team with an eye for detail and customer care.

 

ABOUT YOU

Applicants must be self-motivated, have the ability to manage the onsite teams and enjoy working with a varied range of customers of different ages and abilities.

 

Essential Skills/Qualifications:

  • Paddle Sport Leader or equivalent
  • Willing to undertake and obtain British Canoeing Raft Guide course/Stadium award
  • Experience of managing staff including their training and development
  • Excellent knowledge of Paddle UK, AALS and Risk Assessments.
  • Excellent communication skills and IT literate, capable of using MS Office;Word and Excel packages.
  • Experience of working with bookings systems and keeping accurate records.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Enjoy interacting and motivating customers to build their confidence and skills.
  • Able to prioritise workload, to plan and allocate targets to meet deadlines.
  • Experience of managing a team.

 

Desirable:

  • Paddle UK Coach Award
  • White Water Kayak Coach (MW)
  • White Water Canoe Coach (MW)
  • Experience of working on high ropes course.

 

The successful applicant will be required to have an enhanced DBS check.
