Volunteer Trainee Outdoor Instructor
CMC Adventure
Situated in Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park with the sea right on our doorstep we offer several voluntary positions to committed Christians who want to develop a career in the outdoors whilst at the same time share their Christian faith with those they work with and those who visit. The Volunteer Trainee Programme provides an opportunity for enthusiastic young Christians to launch a career in the outdoors. CMC has sixty years of experience in running outdoor courses and residential stays.
You do not need any qualifications to come as a Volunteer Trainee Instructor; however, some experience of Outdoor adventurous activities will be an advantage. You need to know that you enjoy being in the outdoors and sharing it with others. A great many CMC trainees have gone on to have successful careers in Outdoor Education, Teaching and Youth Work. As a volunteer at CMC you will also be involved in the domestic and hospitality aspects of our work. This will offer a much broader range of work experience and help develop further interpersonal skills.
We offer as part of your training to volunteer at CMC Adventure.
Training and Assessment courses.
- MLTUK Summer Mountain Leader award
- Rock Climbing Instructor award
- Paddle sport Safety and Rescue, Sea Kayak Award, Paddle Sport Instructor
- Rescue Emergency Care (REC) Outdoor First Aid.
It is expected that you will be keen to gain all of these qualifications whilst with us and use significant amounts of holiday and time off to complete logbook requirements and hone your personal skills.
It is also possible to gain RYA Power Boat Level 2, RYA Safety Boat and Sailing Level 1 and 2 if you are progressing well in your other qualifications.
- Programmed training opportunities and time to gain experience towards qualifications.

It is therefore an Occupational Requirement (Equality Act - part 1, schedule 9), that the post-holder is a committed Christian.
