Join our friendly and experienced team at RYG Outdoor Education Centre, based on the edge of Eryri National Park. For over 50 years, we’ve been creating memorable outdoor experiences for schools and organisations across the mountains, lakes and coast of North Wales.
Our instructors stay with the same group throughout their visit, building genuine relationships and helping young people develop confidence, resilience and skills over the course of their stay.

Full Time, Maternity Cover, required from January 2027
Salary Scale: £28 - £32,000pa dependent upon qualifications and experience
9 weeks paid holiday + pension + kit allowance
We are a busy outdoor education centre on the south edge of the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park and have been established in the delivery of Outdoor Education for over 50 years. We provide courses for a range of groups including primary, secondary, independent schools, scouts, youth groups, families, corporate work, training and expeditions. We offer a wide variety of activities across Snowdonia, the coast and our base at the nearby Llyn Tegid (Bala Lake). We host PGCE students from Bangor University and operate as a Lead Centre for their training. We also run our own trainee instructor scheme. Over the past 10 years we have continuously expand our facilitates to meet increasing demand.
We are passionate about the opportunities we provide for the children and adults who visit our centre. We cater for one or two groups at a time and our school groups usually stay for 6 nights. Our instructors work with one group for their entire visit enabling them to build a rapport over the week as well as offering exceptional challenge and support tailored uniquely to their group.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly and motivated person, who enjoys working with children. The job will include running sessions during the day, centre responsibilities, as well as some evening and weekend work (usually 1 evening a week and 1 weekend a month).
Ideally applicants would have the following as minimum: ML summer, RCI, BCU Paddle Sports Leader and a full UK driving licence. Desirable qualifications: Mine leader, PCV D1, RYA Dinghy Instructor, BCU Level 2 paddle sports and a higher-level qualification. Training is available to work towards qualifications.
