The Opportunity

●       Salary: £27,000 - £32,000 pro rata per year (depending on experience)

●       Office Working Hours: Monday to Friday 0900 – 1700.

●       Work Pattern: 0.8 FTE Permanent (4 days per week).  Full-time considered.

●       Location: Hartlepool, UK

●       Reporting to: CEO

Your Impact & Responsibilities

As our Finance Officer, you will play a central role in managing our day-to-day accounts. Your responsibilities will include:

●       Daily Finance Management: Handling accounts payable and receivable, processing invoices, and managing bank transactions on Sage.

●       Reporting & Reconciliations: Reconciling bank statements and completing month-end processes for sales and purchases.

●       Payroll & Pensions: Coordinating with accountants to ensure accurate monthly payroll and overseeing NEST pension administration.

●       Credit & VAT: Managing credit control and preparing quarterly VAT submissions via Sage.

●       Strategic Support: Preparing data for quarterly Policy Committee Meetings and handling the year-end account preparations.

●       Systems & Organization: Maintaining Sage data, organizing confidential filing systems, and processing staff expenses.

What You’ll Bring

●       Minimum AAT Level 2 in bookkeeping (or equivalent), with strong GCSEs in English and Maths.

●       Have working experience of, and be proficient in, Sage accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and Word.

●       High level of numerical accuracy and a meticulous approach to record-keeping.

●       Has experience of financial administration and bookkeeping in an office environment.

●       Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
