Seasonal Outdoor Education Instructor at Heatree Activity Centre
We currently have a vacancy for a Seasonal Outdoor Education Instructor. Working alongside our team of outdoor instructors, you will deliver exciting and rewarding outdoor adventures for young people of all ages and abilities. We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals who ideally have experience in a range of adventurous activities.
Main Responsibilities
- To deliver exciting, well-planned activity sessions as part of the Centre’s Outdoor Education programme
- To contribute to the development of the outdoor programme, supporting the Charity’s vision to help young people encounter God through adventure
- To host groups at weekends and during school holidays as required
- To assist with equipment checks, upkeep, and wider site maintenance
- To engage with and support the Christian ethos and ministry of the Centre
- To support Centre administration and contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the Centre
Person Specification
- Experienced in delivering outdoor activities
- Experienced in working with children and young people
- Ideally holds a qualification in climbing, walking leadership or paddlesport, e.g. CWI, RCI, ERCA, Lowland Leader Award, Paddlesport Instructor, GNAS or mountain biking
- As a Christian charity it is an Occupational Requirement (OR) of the role that candidates are committed Christians as permitted in the Equality Act 2010
- Strong initiative, reliable and punctual
- Good leadership and group communication skills
- Have own transport due to rural location (potential for on-site rented accommodation)
- Must be aged 18 years or over
- Positive Christian role model for both guests and staff
Contract: Full-time Seasonal (March- November) Monday – Friday 8.30am – 5pm. Occasional evening and weekend work will be required.
Location: Heatree Activity Centre, Manaton, Devon, TQ13 9XE, (some off-site working on Dartmoor will be required at times).
Salary: £28,080 (pro rata £21,060)
