Are you a confident communicator with a passion for sales, people, and the great outdoors?

Would you love a role where no two days are quite the same, where you can build relationships, win new business and play a part in giving thousands of young people unforgettable experiences?

If so, we would love to hear from you.

Rockley is a leading provider of watersports training and school activity trips, with 50 years of experience inspiring young people through outdoor adventure. Based in Poole, Dorset, we operate four activity centres across Dorset and France and welcome more than 11,000 students every year.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Sales Advisor to join our growing Sales & Marketing team at our Head Office in Poole.

The role

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to build or develop their career in sales within a unique and fast-moving industry.

You will be at the heart of our sales operation, helping schools and groups discover what Rockley can offer, developing new relationships and supporting our existing customers to make their trips a success.

You will have the opportunity to manage your own area, generate new business, attend sales appointments, and trade shows, deliver presentations and work closely with schools to help them maximise participation in their trips.

You will be part sales professional, part relationship builder and part Rockley ambassador, helping teachers, students and customers see just how much a Rockley experience can offer.

What you will be doing

Working closely with the Commercial Director, your role will include:

  • Responding to incoming sales enquiries via phone and email and turning enquiries into bookings.
  • Providing an exceptional level of customer service and building strong, lasting relationships with our clients.
  • Managing online bookings and identifying opportunities to upsell and introduce customers to our wider range of products and experiences.
  • Managing and developing a portfolio of existing school and group accounts.
  • Taking responsibility for a designated area of the UK, identifying new opportunities, and generating new leads.
  • Making outbound calls to prospective schools and clients and following up with sales appointments, both in person and virtually.
  • Delivering engaging trip-launch presentations to pupils and attending teacher/parent presentations around the UK and online.
  • Supporting teachers throughout the trip-launch process, helping them overcome challenges and maximise participation.
  • Representing Rockley at trade shows and industry events, including the Southampton Boat Show.
  • Working collaboratively with the wider Head Office team on administration and other projects as required.

What we are looking for

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, driven and naturally confident when speaking to people.

You do not necessarily need years of sales experience, what is most important is your attitude, communication skills, and desire to succeed. You will need to be comfortable picking up the phone, building relationships, presenting to groups, and working towards targets.

Ideally, you will have:

  • An outgoing, positive, and motivated personality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A genuine interest in sales and building customer relationships.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Previous sales or customer-facing experience (desirable).
  • An interest in watersports, outdoor activities, travel, leisure, or the wider adventure industry (desirable).
  • A full UK manual driving licence, as travel will be required as part of the role.

All applicants will be subject to satisfactory references and a DBS check.

Why Rockley?

You will be joining a business with a fantastic heritage, an ambitious team and a product that genuinely makes a difference to young people's experiences.

This is not a desk-based sales role where every day looks the same. You will have the opportunity to meet customers, travel, attend events, deliver presentations, develop your own sales area, and see the real-world impact of the work you do.

You will also be joining a team that is passionate about what Rockley does and is focused on growing the business for the future.

If you are ambitious, personable, and excited by the idea of combining sales, relationship building and outdoor adventure, we would love to hear from you.

The details

The successful candidate will undertake a six-month probationary period.

The standard working pattern is Monday to Friday, 08:30–17:00. The role will occasionally require early morning, evening, or weekend work to accommodate customer meetings, presentations, events, and other business requirements.

Ready to make your mark at Rockley?

If you are looking for a sales role with variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to work for a business that inspires young people every year, we would love to hear from you.
