Are you passionate about supporting students to develop themselves through the Duke of Edinburgh Award (DofE), bushcraft and the other incredible outdoor programmes that run across the Trust? If the answer is yes, this exciting post may be for you.
Bohunt Education Trust is a fast growing and dynamic multi-academy trust of nine secondary schools in the south of England. As a leader in the outdoor education field, we are looking to appoint an Outdoor Administrator who will work across all our academies to quality assure and develop DofE programmes, residentials, interventions, and Big Expeditions.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) is a UK charity that makes a difference to young people’s lives and prepares them for life and work. Over 300,000 young people per year from every possible background take part in DofE programmes to broaden their horizons, develop their leadership skills, learn to work with others, volunteer in their local communities, increase their employability, and prove to themselves they can succeed at a serious challenge.
As an Outdoor Administrator you will be responsible for:
● Supporting the delivery of high quality outdoor provision within Bohunt School and across BET through administrative support
● Helping to plan, prep & organise off-site trips, residentials, interventions and expeditions
● Ensuring health and safety checks, inventories, EVOLVE and risk assessments are up-to-date before courses/programmes begin
● System management and data analysis across various school and Trust programmes
● Supporting the annual DofE plan that strives to continually improve the safety and quality of the BET DofE experience and completion rates
● Using eDofE to support the delivery, performance and management of DofE
● Supporting participants to complete their DofE Awards
● Working to promote DofE across the schools and local communities
The role would entail approximately two days a week working across BET managing the Trust’s DofE and outdoor initiatives. These days could be based at any of the BET schools, if location is more convenient. The remaining three days will be based at Bohunt School, where you will be responsible for support of the DofE programmes and school outdoor administration.
We will offer you:
● A supportive environment
● The opportunity to make a difference
● Happy and enthusiastic students who want to learn
● The benefit of being part of a multi-academy trust offering the support of experienced colleagues across our schools and greater opportunities for career progression
● Local Government Pension Scheme
