About us
Derwent Water Marina is a RYA and Paddle UK training centre. We are situated near Keswick in Cumbria on the shore of Derwent Water. We run a range of courses from taster sessions to accredited courses for children, young people and adults.
We have on the water berths for around 50 Boats, and shore storage for a range of smaller craft, we also have an onsite water sports shop and onsite self-catering apartments. Job Overview
At Derwent Water Marina you will work as part of a team to ensure the day-to-day activities run smoothly. You'll be the first point of contact for many of our customers by phone, email, or in person. The job is varied with no two days alike. Responsibilities will include taking bookings over the phone and in person, selling shop items, helping with hire and general day to day admin. This is a very people-focused role in a business that values excellent service, quick thinking, and positive energy.
Requirements:
Essential:
Strong IT skills and proficient in - Word, Excel, Outlook, & Sharepoint
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Good interpersonal skills
Good organisational skills
A proactive, hands-on approach
Enjoy working as part of a team
A clean DBS check
Desirable:
Experience of online booking systems
Advertising and Marketing experience
Experience of Wordpress / Elementor
Active interest in watersports
First Aid
Main Duties
Manage bookings, enquiries, and emails. Talk to customers to understand their needs and explain the Marinas different products and services.
Assist customers to find the right product in the water sports / chandlery shop. Sorting shop stock and updating the till system. Assist with hire duties as required. Assist with marketing and brokerage.
Provide exceptional customer service. Address any customer concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
The role requires an individual who can work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
