The Schools International Outdoor Learning Group exists to promote, support, and enhance the value of educational visits, trips, and outdoor learning opportunities worldwide as an essential part of a broad and balanced education.
We will:
- Advocate for the educational, social, and personal development benefits of educational visits.
- Provide guidance, resources, and training to schools, educators, and visit organisers.
- Promote best practice in safety, planning, and delivery of visits with ISO31031 as the key risk management tool additional to in country legislation & guidance.
- Support collaboration between schools, parents, providers, and local educational structures.
- Influence policy and decision-makers to recognise the value of educational visits.
- Create a network for sharing knowledge, experiences, and opportunities.
- Provide training & CPD opportunities both within the group, The IOL family and accredited organisations
