Apprentice Outdoor Education Instructor, 37 hpw, 6 hours collage time included

Workplace Location; Thurston Outdoor Education Centre, Coniston, Cumbria, LA21 8AB

 

Rate of pay; £8.22 per hour

 

One year Fixed contract

 

Work pattern: Flexible to cover the needs of the centre.  Weekly hours will be worked over 10days in a 14day period.  Working rota’s will be agreed in advance.  Will include weekend and evening work.

 

We are seeking to appoint a motivated individual with the aptitude and ability to undertake a Level 3 apprentice programme, in partnership with Kendal College. The role involves both on and off the job training and gaining experience as an Outdoor Activity Instructor. 

 

Hours of work: 37 hours per week over 5 days, including some weekend and evening work.  In addition to working with groups in the outdoors, you will contribute to the running of the centre generally in areas such as equipment and site maintenance, domestic support along with our wider staff team.

For this apprenticeship the following are required:

  • Maths and English Level 2 Functional Skills or GCSE qualifications grade A* to C (or 4 to 9). 
  • ECHP: For those with an education, health and care plan or a legacy statement the apprenticeships English and Maths minimum requirement is Entry Level 3 and British Sign Language qualification are an alternative to English qualifications for whom this is their primary language.
