Outdoor Learning in the South & Channel Islands

The Southern Region includes the beautiful coast, lakes, rivers, downs, open countryside, city centres and two National parks spread across the counties of Hampshire, West and East Sussex, Kent, Surrey, London, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire along with the Isle of Wight and Channel Islands. We have a great array of environments used by our members, from rural open spaces, dramatic coastlines, to open country and city centre provision. The region has a strong outdoor learning community with many centres and freelancers operating in the very diverse and active region.

The voluntary committee represents IOL in your region, get in touch with us. We wish to represent your views.

Outdoor Learning Association creation - update

..and info on free online Info and Q&A Sessions

We have for some time shared with you the possibility of bringing together a variety of bodies in order for us to create a platform for IOL members to belong which truly represents the professionals working in the outdoor environment.

Thank you to those that managed to respond to the survey on this proposal and for your patience with the length of time this journey has taken.  


The update document is downloadable here sets out where we are in this process of development and the next stages for all those organisations concerned.

Three online Information and Q&A sessions

We will continue to send out updates in accordance with the timelines set out in this document. We hope this provides you with a clear picture of what to expect next and when. Your discussion, comments, and questions are valued, welcomed, and needed as we continue this exciting journeyof development and growth.
