Outdoor Learning in the North East

The North East region covers from Berwick on the border of Scotland, to the west with the border of Cumbria, through the beautiful undeveloped landscape of high moorland in Northumberland featuring its many castles and 64 miles of long distance paths bordering the coastline of the North Sea. Dropping down from the North through Newcastle and County Durham into York and ending at Hull with its Maritime history. Whether urban or rural you are never too far from the countryside or coast.

Outdoor Learning Association (OLA) update

As you know we have (for some time) shared with you the possibility of bringing together a variety of bodies in order for us to create a platform for our members to belong which truly represents the professionals working in the outdoor environment. Thank you to those that managed to respond to the survey on this proposal and for your patience with the length of time this journey has taken. 

The update document below (PDF) sets out where we are in this process of development and the next stages for all those organisations concerned.
