Outdoor Learning in the North East

The North East region covers from Berwick on the border of Scotland, to the west with the border of Cumbria, through the beautiful undeveloped landscape of high moorland in Northumberland featuring its many castles and 64 miles of long distance paths bordering the coastline of the North Sea. Dropping down from the North through Newcastle and County Durham into York and ending at Hull with its Maritime history. Whether urban or rural you are never too far from the countryside or coast.

UK Outdoors warns Government 15,000 jobs will be lost

“You can go to boarding school. You can stay in a hostel dorm. But kids can’t go on their outdoor education visits.”

15,000 jobs at risk and half of outdoor education capacity to be permanently lost as Government continues school travel sector closure.

You may have seen our social media and news reports today about the letter sent to PM Boris Johnson urging him to end a lockdown block on residential school visits or risk destroying the "great British tradition" of outdoor education.
