Save Outdoor Education Campaign
UK Outdoors has continued its campaign to reopen residential visits with significant media coverage over this week. As we look to the next stage, heading towards the November Review, we will be looking to grow our political support and press the case to Government via MPs. We will be building on the Save Outdoor Education campaign’s brilliant work, adopting that message for our outreach.
We must start building that parliamentary support for the change to guidance now. As such, I have attached a template MP letter to send to your local MP. Please feel free to adapt to your circumstance. Please do let me know if you send a letter and to whom.
N.B. if you are aware of any outdoor residential providers already closed or unlikely to receive this email please let us know ASAP through media@ukoutdoors.org.uk
Please find below a one page campaign brief that hosts the campaign messaging, which can be used by your organisation and staff to educate anyone on the campaign, including local MPs.
Finally, I ask that you continue to build momentum behind the campaign wherever you can. Lobby your MP. Seek out local media opportunities. Use the #saveoutdoored hashtag on all social media. Encourage people to sign the petition.
Together, I hope we can show this Government the disastrous impact they are having on such a lively, valuable and vibrant sector. Good luck and let’s keep moving.
