NW Region Access & Venues

NW Region Access & Venues

IOL North West Venue and Access Statement

The IOL North West Committee believe IOL members can positively influence use of the outdoors for recreational purposes. By setting a good example, instructors, teachers, leaders and providers of outdoor learning experiences can shape how people use and care for the outdoors in the immediate and longer term.

For established providers, venues are often chosen from a limited menu or on the basis of a recent recommendation. We encourage outdoor professionals to have a wide choice and freedom to exercise discretion to match group, environment and session needs. With targeted use of the outdoors for clear objectives and by showing a respect for the environment overcrowding at some venues could be avoided.

The IOL North West Committee collaborate and support responsible and sustainable access to the countryside for Outdoor Learning. Please get in touch if you need specific venue guidance or you have an issue we can support you with.
