ABOUT THE ROLE
Lancashire Outdoor Education is currently recruiting to the role of Operations Manager at Tower Wood. This is a new role which fits into our progressive and modern approach to delivering high quality outdoor activity residential experiences for our customers.
The Operations Manager role would suit someone with significant Outdoor Adventurous Activity experience, a higher level National Governing Body Award and with the ability to manage the organisation and delivery of OAA at Tower Wood. You will be expected to work with the House, Catering and Site Managers to maintain and promote our high level of customer satisfaction.
Each of the three LOE centres have small teams of core outdoor tutors, extensive freelance tutor teams and established domestic, catering and maintenance staff. This staffing structure allows qualified and experienced individuals to focus on their area of our service and to support each other in meeting our customer needs. The centres are overseen by the Head of Operations to ensure quality, efficiency and strategic direction aligned with Lancashire County Council.
Tower Wood offers a blend of the modern and traditional. Situated on the shores of Lake Windermere, Tower Wood accommodation consists of Edwardian house and a purpose built Lodge. The eleven acre site provides direct access to numerous facilities including a modern boat house, conference rooms, high challenges, and access to the lake for sailing, canoeing, SUPs and more. The site is directly linked to the surrounding fells and is ideally located for access to activities in the South Lake District.
The centre has a tradition and location which lends itself to sailing. A RYA Senior Instructor qualification would be of significant benefit in this role however we are focussed on recruiting an individual with the aptitude and potential to progress the centre, service and themselves within the role of Operational Manager.
