Adventure Okehampton is set on the northern edge of Dartmoor surrounded by beautiful countryside & wildlife.

The Centre has been offering residential accommodation since 1996, now with capacity for over 200 people split over 2 sites and adjacent camping fields. We offer a range of onsite and offsite Activities, including Rock Climbing, Abseiling, Gorge Scrambling, High Ropes, Canoeing, Kayaking, Mountain biking, Mountain Boarding & Bushcraft.

We are looking for active, enthusiastic and motivated individuals for our 2020 season. No experience is necessary, as training will be given. However, a desire to work in the outdoor industry is essential. With a long history in delivering the apprentice instructor programme in conjunction with Exeter college, we boast an excellent success rate in starting many outdoor careers and retaining trainees for future employment.  

Practical, work-based experience alongside a developing skill-set enables our apprentices to gain not only an NVQ in Activity Leadership, but also obtain National Governing Body qualifications.

The successful candidate will aim to gain the following Qualifications: CWI Training, MIAS Level 1, BC Paddle Explore award, Foundation safety and rescue, BC Paddlesport Instructor, safeguarding children award, First Aid & a Navigational qualification.

Hours: Average of 36 hours per week

Accommodation: On & Off site accommodation available through the centre

Employment Start Date: March 2020

Applicants to hold a minimum D grade or above GCSE English & maths. For safeguarding reasons the minimum age for applicants is 18yrs at the employment start date.
