Horizons magazine continues to be an important source of CPD and promotion of good Outdoor Learning practices. This quarterly magazine is often be found in staff rooms and outdoor centre public spaces, fulfilling an important role for a wide range of outdoor learning professionals. The magazine’s content is generated by practicing outdoor learning professionals, sharing insights gained from delivery and reflection.
The role of the Horizons’ Review Panel is to provide guidance to the Editor. Applicants will need to be able to consider the content of articles submitted to the editor in the light of their own experience and understanding. To do this effectively applicants must be a minimum of APIOL level. Applicants should have an in-depth knowledge of a field of practice and be willing to mentors authors in the development of their articles.
The review panel will be made up of at least 8 individuals with subject matter knowledge in outdoor learning and experience of delivery. This is a voluntary role with all reasonable expenses covered. Panel members will be expected to review 2 articles per quarter (including July to Sept period) and meet once every 2 years to consider the functioning of the panel and the development of the magazine.
