Associate Business Partnership Opportunity (Director of Operations role)

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to become an Associate Business Partner with a small but well-established peripatetic [AALA approved] provider of outdoor adventure activities to schools and private clients.
The Director of Operations role would be a NON-salaried, but any instructing work would be paid and a benefits package and profit share will be available (subject to reaching agreed sales and expenditure).
Your location: North of England/Midlands [or could be other UK location].
Required qualifications: A range of relevant outdoor adventure NGB qualifications would be considered [plus, some form of managerial/organisational qualification would be desirable, but not essential]
Candidate’s background: While having NGB qualifications is required, what is equally important, is that the candidate will have the right experience and background in adventure activities / outdoor education and business development.
Further, it is essential that they will be able to demonstrate their enthusiasm and drive for taking a sales approach to their day to day involvement, as well as towards the longer-term development of the business.
Partner’s key roles and responsibilities (provisional i.e. subject to discussion and agreement).
• Lead Instructor [subject to appropriate NBG qualifications].
• To take the lead in product definition and development.
• To take the lead on kit management purchase and storage.
• Would be expected to contribute to key aspects of marketing activity.
• Would be closely involved with the recruitment and supervision of freelance staff.
• Would be expected to help with developing and updating policies, practices and procedural guidance.

The partner would be expected to help define the future direction of the business and they would be consulted on any significant investment and/or other developmental and operational issues.
The benefits package would be reviewed annually to ensure it is commensurate with the duties and level of business profit [if the level of business significantly improves the package will also improve].
Either party could terminate the agreement with mutually agreed notice period.
If this partnership were successful, and if both parties agreed, it could in the longer-term lead to some form of succession arrangement.
