Rowdeford is an exceptional, forward-looking, co-educational special school for pupils aged

11-16 with Complex Learning, Communication and Interaction difficulties. The school is set within beautiful and extensive grounds affording exciting opportunities for Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC).

Outdoor Learning Development Coordinator – Full Time

An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen to join Rowdeford School to lead the Outdoor Learning Team.  We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and hard-working teacher, who has a genuine passion for working with pupils with special needs.

 

The successful candidate will need to lead, promote, manage and support Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC), and Outdoor and Environmental Learning initiatives across the school. They will develop a financially sustainable Outdoor Learning Campus, lead and manage the Alternative Provision programme delivered to mainstream students at Rowdeford (PLUS students), and lead, teach and assess courses in land-based learning.  They will also possess experience of supporting the development of students’ personal, social and communication skills, both in and out of the classroom.

 

A knowledge of leading and assessing The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme up to Silver level is highly desirable.

 

They will be an important member of the middle leadership team.

 

Visits to the school are encouraged and warmly welcomed by prior arrangement.
