Volunteer Trainee Cook - CMC Adventure (Gwynedd)

Volunteer Trainee Cook

CMC Adventure

Remuneration:  This is a voluntary position that would suit a young Christian who wants to begin a career in residential ministry / service / catering.  We offer you board and lodging, a monthly expenses allowance, half a day study-leave per week and we would cover all relevant training costs as well as provide kitchen clothing / equipment and other PPE.

We are offering the position of Volunteer Trainee Cook to someone who is a committed Christian and who wants to develop a career in hospitality, whilst at the same time serving our guests. All staff are committed Christians and seek to live their lives in accordance with Biblical principles. You will be working alongside our cooks and House Manager, as well as other team members throughout your time with us.

CMC is offering the Trainee Cook a food production course which runs for 12 months. This is a work-based course and an assessor would visit the workplace every 4-6 weeks to ensure the relevant criteria is being met and to assist with the completion of your portfolio of evidence.

Each Trainee Cook will be supported throughout the course by a structured programme of teaching, e-learning, face-to-face training and workplace mentoring; this will encourage and help them to meet the requirements of the new standards and will prepare them for the assessment.

The key role of the Trainee Cook is to provide home cooked meals to our groups who come and stay with us.

We offer you:

30 days annual leave including bank holidays (10 days taken over Christmas)

Food Hygiene Course

First Aid Training and Qualification

Half a day study-leave each week

Expenses allowance, accommodation and full board

Initial commitment of 12 months, with the possibility of it being extended if mutually beneficial
