Avon Tyrrell is a charity run outdoor centre situated in The New Forest National Park on the beautiful South Coast and we are currently recruiting for a passionate and enthusiastic outdoor instructor to join our team.


Dedicated to the continuous development of young people and passionate about outdoor learning, Avon Tyrrell it is a fantastic place to work with a great staff team. 

We offer a diverse range of onsite activities and work with a broad range of groups, offering you great opportunities to extend your knowledge, skills and experience


Starting Salary: £18,000pa

Hours: Full Time (42.5 hrs a week)



27 days annual leave + bank holidays

On the job training and continuing professional development


Due to the nature of the role onsite accommodation is available upon request and is charged at £32.94 per week for a single room in a shared lodge.


Essential Qualifications:

Candidates should be over 18 and previous instructing experience, a valid first aid certificate and a minimum of two industry qualifications from the below list:

  • BC Coach Award or BC Paddle sport Instructor
  • ERCA  Traditional Instructor
  • CWI or CWIA
  • A nationally recognised walking/navigation qualification
  • A nationally recognised mountain biking qualification
  • Archery GB instructor
