Lead Instructor/ Outdoor Facilitator

Challenge Academy is a Community Interest Company offering active outdoor learning opportunities to the community and engaging a wide range of customers of all ages and abilities.  We are currently going through an extensive development of our centre, including indoor and outdoor classrooms, offices and an additional activity area that will cater for a wider range of groups and individuals.

Activities currently include our Aerial Ropes Adventure Course, team development activities, mobile outreach and other activities based around the country park.  However, due to the development of the centre we will be increasing our activity provision and require additional staff to assist with our plans.

As a Lead Instructor with Challenge Academy, you will be based at Baggeridge Country Park in the West Midlands, supporting the Operations Manager to deliver and further develop packages and programmes to organised groups and the general public. 

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include activity instruction, ensuring the safety of course users and other staff, ensuring safe practice in line with company policy and procedure, supervising junior staff, working at height including inspections and maintenance of our Aerial Ropes Adventure Course, and general site maintenance.

Requirements:

We are looking for individuals with a passion for the outdoors and educating others within this environment.  You must be comfortable with working at height and ideally have experience and qualifications within the Outdoor Education industry.  We are in search of an energetic and enthusiastic outdoor practitioner who possesses a positive attitude to all aspects of outdoor learning and is willing to undertake additional and ongoing training to meet the organisation’s needs.

Must be 18 years old or over

Non-Residential post

All successful candidates will be DBS checked

 

Wage and Benefits:

From £8.25 per hour

40 Hours per week, Including weekends and bank holidays

NGB awards and site-specific training provided
