AdventureRMS (on behalf of AALA)
Location: UK wide
Closing date: 24th December 2019
Information & applications:
Adventure Risk Management Services (AdventureRMS), a new company, has been identified by the HSE as the preferred bidder to review applications and undertaken inspections in relation to the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority (AALA) licensing scheme.
Freelance inspectors will work from home reviewing and evaluating information provided by applicants for an AALA licence and subsequently undertaking inspection visits. Inspectors will require a high degree of professional organisation, a broad understanding and experience of the outdoor industry and a positive approach to the provision of well-managed, genuine adventure activities.
Candidates should hold a qualification which would allow them to act as a technical advisor, in the context of the licensing scheme, in at least one activity area (Sailing, Paddlesports, Climbing, Walking, Caving or Mountain Biking) and awards in alternative disciplines which demonstrate their ability to operate as an instructor in that environment. Experience of providing national governing body instructor training and assessment courses and/or undertaking inspections for NGB or other accreditation schemes are also particularly relevant.
Individuals based in Scotland, Wales and both the north and south of England are invited to submit expressions of interest and a brief CV to accounts@AdventureRMS.org.uk. Selected candidates will be invited to attend an information event in early January.
If you would like further information or an informal conversation about the roles you can call Tim Morton (AdventureRMS Head of Service) on 07760 770507.
