Outdoor instructor - Explore Activity and Education Centre (Farnborough) - £19k - £23k

Outdoor instructor

Explore Activity and Education Centre

Around £19k - £23k

Farnborough, GU166DS

Closing date 31st May 2021

Explore Activity and Education Centre are looking for outdoor instructors to join our small but proficient team, offering both land and water-based activities from our centre in Mytchett on the Surrey and Hampshire border.

As an outdoor centre that operates all year round, we are looking to recruit instructors on a seasonal and permanent basis.  Casual work during evenings, weekends and school holidays is also available.

Here at Explore we work with a mixture of age groups and abilities, ranging from off-site afterschool clubs for reception children, to secondary school students with special educational needs and disabilities.  We are looking for staff who are flexible, patient, and capable of working well as part of a team.  As a business we are constantly evolving and looking at ways to improve our services and what we can offer the young people that attend our outdoor centre. Being part of a small but enthusiastic team means your voice and ideas will be heard and taken on board, which will offer instructors real progression as individuals and outdoor professionals.

Qualifications – Ideally candidates will hold qualifications in paddle sports, mountain biking, archery and first aid, as well as experience within bushcraft, orienteering, team games etc.  A clean driving license is also ideal, although can be worked around for the right candidate.  The upper end of the pay bracket is offered for instructors who hold higher level qualifications such as BC coach award / BCU UKCC level 2, MIAS level 2 or equivalent.

The role will be based on 40 hours per week.  Holiday pay and CPD budget with a salary of around £19k - £23k (this is flexible and will be dependent on qualifications and experience).  Safeguarding and food hygiene training is provided.  During the Summer term there is optional paid overtime for staff.

To apply, please email a copy of your CV with a brief cover letter.  Please do not hesitate to email or give us a call if you would like any further information.
