Residential Assistant (Male) - St David's College (Llandudno)

Residential Assistant (Male)

St David's College

St David's College is looking for a residential assistant to live and work in a male boarding house at St David’s College, Llandudno, North Wales.

The successful candidate’s main responsibilities will be to supervise and care for pupils during the evenings and weekends as part of a duty team within the boarding community. During the day there will be opportunities to work with the Outdoor Education and PE departments and also an expectation to help from time to time with academic lessons.

Accommodation and food (term time only) are provided on a subsidized basis as part of the contractual terms and the salary is commensurate to the post, which would typically suit an individual who is seeking some experience prior to entering the teaching or Outdoor Education professions. The post is for one academic year in the first instance but could be extended further depending on the willingness and capabilities of the candidate.

Due to the nature of these positions, they are exempt from the Equalities Act 2010 with male members of staff being required for the boy’s boarding area and a female required for the girls.

St David’s College is an independent boarding and day school near to Llandudno. St David’s College was founded on Christian principles and continues to promote them today. Many teachers live on site and the supportive residential community. The school is located on a beautiful historic campus nestled between Snowdonia and the Irish Sea.

Application will be through a completed application form on the TES website or the School Website. Completed applications should be emailed to Rachel Robert, St David’s College, Gloddaeth Hall, Llandudno, LL30 1RD. If you would like to discuss this please call 01492 876702.

The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check. All appointments are subject to satisfactory references.

The closing date for applications is 8 November 2019 and interviews are scheduled for week beginning 18 November 2019. Start date January 2020.
