Senior Outdoor Learning Tutor

Allnatt Swanage


Working within the Senior Tutor team in Allnatt Swanage you will all aim to develop, plan and deliver Brilliant Residentials through Education, Inspiration and Play to a wide ranging audience, including Environmental Education, Fieldwork, Outdoor Adventure, EFL and School Camps.


Role Responsibilities

To provide high quality, innovative and inspiring progressive outdoor learning and recreation for schools, youth groups and adult groups of all ages, abilities, cultures and social backgrounds.

To develop, plan and deliver programmes and activities.

To lead your team by example, setting a high standard of customer service.

To ensure industry best-practice and excellence.

To encourage people to challenge themselves both physically and emotionally in the outdoors, whilst understanding and respecting the forces of nature.

Resource development and maintenance

On-site and on-call customer service management responsibilities


Person Specification


Degree in Environmental or Outdoor Studies

Previous experience in working with children a must.



Experience of Outdoor Education.

Fieldwork Background.

Understanding of National Curriculum and Fieldwork Specifications at GCSE and A Level.

Experience of logistical planning.

Full, clean UK Driving License.



Archery GB Instructor 

Pool Lifeguard (NPLQ or equivalent)

Walking Award

Enhanced DBS (update service registered).

First Aid.



Salary £15,106

Annualised 35 hours a week



Outdoor Education industry experience in activity, environmental and fieldwork sectors including planning and implementation.

Free and Comprehensive training on all in-house activities and sessions.

External Training opportunities for First Aid, Pool Lifeguard/Attendant, High and Low Ropes Instructor / Archery GB Instructor

Opportunities for career development e.g. Registered Practitioner for the Institute of Outdoor Learning (RPIOL) and Accredited Practitioner (APIOL).

Stunning location, less than 5 minutes walk from the coast.

Free use of swimming pool in your own time (subject to client bookings).

Food and Accommodation may be available to get you initially settled into the area.

Some evening and weekend work will be required.

We have operated from this sunny location since the 70’s, being an unparalleled location for many Field Studies and Adventurous Activity residentials. We are within 5 minutes of the beach, open countryside and 10 minutes to the town centre, with public transport links to the nearby vibrancy of Poole and Bournemouth.
