Youth Engagement Officer at Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust

Full-time, 35 hours per week | £28,492 - £30,561 
Based at our offices in Clapham, near Settle, with some home working

We're looking for a Youth Engagement Officer to become part of our Green Futures team to deliver inspirational opportunities for underrepresented and marginalised young people to connect with nature.

 

About the role

Our Green Future programme has supported thousands of people from a range of communities to enjoy, learn about and take part in practical activities in the natural environment. Our youth work aims to empower young people to take environmental action and become environmental leaders of the future.

This role will help to deliver and support the development of YDMT’s Green Futures strategy.

About you

We are looking for someone who is passionate about our work and able to build strong relationships with young people and our partners. You should be able to demonstrate experience of delivering natural environment based projects for young people. More important is your ability to work within our culture – which means being creative, caring, honest and enabling.

We believe the role of Youth Engagement Officer with YDMT will be a highly rewarding one, and a great opportunity for someone to develop their skills in a fantastic organisation whilst benefiting this wonderful area and its communities.

Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust (YDMT) is a small charity doing big things for people, landscape and wildlife in the Yorkshire Dales. 

 

Since 1996, YDMT has delivered diverse and inspirational projects that help to create habitats for our wildlife, tackle climate change and empower people to stand up for nature. We have helped to plant 1.5 million trees and restore more than 800 hectares of wildflower hay meadow. We’re passionate about empowering vulnerable groups and young people to care for this special part of the world.
