Trainee Outdoor Tech with Grahame Robb Associates

Salary: £20,000-£22,000| Location: Mortimer, near Reading, RG7 | Non-residential

Full time-part time/seasonal will be considered

Grahame Robb Associates Ltd (GRA), a long-established learning and development training company, are seeking a Trainee Outdoor Tech to support the growth of the business at its Corporate Outdoor Learning Centre, located at Wokefield Estate, Mortimer, Reading.

GRA specialise in experiential learning and development, blending theory with practical opportunities to apply leadership and team development skills through outdoor activities and challenges.

GRA offer a wide range of activities and challenges and operate a challenge by choice ethos across the organisation, with physical and emotional safety of paramount importance.

About You

We are looking for a hard working, enthusiastic, versatile and practical person with a willingness to learn. This role would be ideal if you are just starting out in the outdoor industry and want to gain some experience at a busy outdoor activity centre. This role will require a variety of responsibilities, so a flexible and adaptable mindset is essential.

Main Responsibilities

· Support the Operations team by upholding our excellent health and safety record

· Support the Senior Instructor in maintaining the Centre grounds, on-site activities and PPE so that it’s well-maintained, well-presented, safe and fit for purpose

· Support the Senior Instructor with PPE and activity inspections including ropes course, climbing tower and archery

· Following training, deliver outdoor team building activity sessions including low and high ropes, problem-solving exercises, laser combat, archery, GPS photo challenge and indoor exercises

· Support off-site corporate events as required including setup and running of activities

Additional Information

· Flexible hours to meet the requirements of our customers, particularly in peak season

· ERCA qualifications preferable or a desire to gain tickets is essential

· This is a non-residential centre, accommodation not provided

· Opportunities to progress with qualifications to support portfolio of activities

The role will be based at our Corporate Outdoor Learning Centre, based in the grounds of Wokefield Estate, Reading. You may be required to occasionally travel to our other centre in Burton-on-Trent.

About the company

GRA own and operate two outdoor learning centres, in Reading and Burton-upon-Trent, purpose-built for leadership and team development training through practical challenges. We use the outdoors to take people away from their day-to-day comfort zone and create opportunities for people to bring theory to life and test new skills through a range of tasks and exercises before applying them in the workplace.
