The Role:
This is an entry-level role designed to appeal to a wide range of backgrounds and skills, we are looking for you to add your own particular brand of experience and personality to our team while we train you up. This role has a full training programme offered including, first aid, bushcraft skills, games and opportunities to learn some adventurous sports.
We are interested in applicants who may be looking for part-time roles, this role can work as a 0.6 Full Time Equivalent (Three days a week), 0.8 Full Time Equivalent (Four day a week) and Full time.
We are looking for enthusiastic new team members who would enjoy a varied role working with a wide age range of children. An average week of work could look like a day with children as young as our Kindi cohort (Nursery) playing woodland games and exploring the woods, a few days with one of the prep schools delivering a combination of basic bushcraft skills and team challenges, and a day helping pack a van of kit to be driven to one of our residential sites or supporting the Curriculum team with administrative tasks such as session planning and resourcing. There will be times when it is appropriate for the candidate to work from home and we will provide IT equipment to facilitate this if needed. Due to these responsibilities, The expectation would therefore be that the candidate is fit and able to be on their feet on average four days per week.
The Curriculum team are the core of our operation, they deliver to every year group in every school and are responsible for designing and delivering a wide range of woodland and adventurous activities. We deliver year-round with a focus on creating curriculum-based, fun, and engaging sessions and are looking for staff to bring enthusiasm, innovation and a passion for working with children to the team.
Job Role for Outdoors Instructors We are looking for candidates who show enthusiasm for working with young people in the outdoors and will enhance our friendly and driven team. This role is an entry-level role with full training offered including, first aid, bushcraft skills, games and opportunities to learn some adventurous sports.
This role may require involvement in our residential programme, meaning the candidate may need to be willing and able to sometimes be away from home during the week, mainly over the summer term, if this is a barrier please apply regardless as some of our team are more London focused.
This is an exciting entry-level role where a drive to learn and contribute will be the main factor in who we offer it to, the opportunities for training and progression will suit people from a range of backgrounds, some of our team have come from teaching, performance acting, sports, and outdoor education backgrounds. The key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Delivery of the TOD programme for the Kindergarten and above
Assist with any kit and maintenance at our site REMPF and our off-site storage facility in Wandsworth
Involvement with internal and external logistics
Person Specification:
Essential:
• would be able to be issued with a full and clear Enhanced DBS (or already hold one and be signed up to the Update Service)
• Works effectively as a member of a team
• A passion for the Outdoor Environment
• An interest in working with children and young people
• Willingness to learn and be trained in a variety of outdoor sessions and skills
Desirable:
• Current First Aid qualification (minimum 8hr or above)
• Experience of working with children and young people in an outdoor setting
• Experience of working within a residential setting
• Camp cooking experience
• Level 2 Food Hygiene
Any NGB Outdoor Specific qualifications, for example:
• Forest School leader
• BC Paddlesport Instructor
• RYA Dinghy Instructor
• RYA Day Skipper
• Climbing Wall Instructor
• IOL Bushcraft Competency Certificate
• Mountain Training walking Qualification
• Mountain Bike Leadership Qualification

A competitive salary £24,000 - £26,500 depending on experience
