Who we are
UK Youth is a leading National Charity working across the UK. Our outdoor learning centre, Avon Tyrrell, is based in the beautiful New Forest National Park and is dedicated to providing diverse opportunities for ALL young people to experience, learn and develop through inclusive outdoor learning programmes. We also run funded programmes to reach and engage young people who don’t traditionally have access to personal development opportunities, for example we recently ran the Active Youth programme for Sports England with the aim to get young people more active.
What is the role
As an outdoor leaning instructor, you will be part of our delivery team with responsibility for instructing our range of outdoor activities.
School residentials form a core part of our term time delivery but across the year we work with a wide variety of groups and adapt our delivery to support their specific needs, so by joining us you will be able to develop your skills working across a range of activities and with a wide variety of groups. We pride ourselves on the inclusivity of our activities and one of the highlights of the year is our various inclusive weekends we run for local families who have children and young adults with accessibility needs.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for individuals who have experience of delivering outdoor learning sessions to a range of ages and abilities, who hold a valid first aid certificate and at least two of the below qualifications:
BC Coach Award or minimum BC Paddle Sport Instructor
RCI Assessed or a nationally recognised Climbing qualification
ERCA Traditional Instructor
A nationally recognised walking/navigation qualification
A nationally recognised Mountain Biking qualification
Archery GB instructor
A recognised environmental qualification
Onsite single room accommodation is also available in a shared lodge at £35pw

Hours : 37.5 hours a week average
