Salary or hourly/day rate: GSaL point 23, £26,238 per annum based on 35 hours per week.

The Outdoor Learning department at the Grammar School at Leeds is looking to appoint a female assistant instructor to join their team from 31 August 2023. We are looking for a female assistant due to staff ratios and pupil needs for overnight visits. This position is temporary to cover a period of maternity leave, and is expected to end on 15 April 2024 but with the possibility of becoming permanent in the future for the right person. 

The role will involve providing support to the Head of Outdoor Learning in the delivery and administration of a multi activity based programme at GSAL. This would include residential courses, as well as courses based from the school with an anticipated extra commitment to our DofE programme.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone wanting to further their experience in working with children in an outdoor, educational setting and become involved in the day-to-day operation of a busy and varied programme of activities. The role would suit someone with a broad range of NGB awards who has experience and is current in working across a range of activities, who is able to bring ideas and imagination to enhance the programme and who has the desire to progress further.
