Outdoor Instructor Apprenticeship

  • 13 Months of Quality Instructor Training
  • 9 National Governing Body Qualifications
  • Earn at least £915 a month
  • Includes £1000’s of qualifications & coaching
  • Do Something You LOVE!

Start your journey as an Outdoor Instructor! Land & Waves next apprenticeship opportunity starts on 15th April 2024 and runs until May 2025. This is one of the best-paid and qualification-rich apprenticeships within the outdoors. Anyone over the age of 18 can apply.

You can expect a friendly, personal experience whilst gaining professional, relevant qualifications to propel you into your outdoor career. You’ll train alongside other Apprentices for 2024/25 and meet plenty of other aspiring outdoor professionals as they start their outdoor careers.

We have been successfully training outdoor instructors for the last 12 years and this is our third year running this awesome apprenticeship.

This 13-month Outdoor Instructor Apprenticeship is delivered in partnership between Land & Wave and Channel Training. You’ll be based in the seaside town of Swanage, Dorset.

You’ll gain 9 National Governing Body qualifications that are industry-recognised PLUS a wide range of in-house qualifications too, which will bolster your life skills in instructing and group management.

We know the biggest struggle of an apprenticeship is living on an apprenticeship wage (£5.28/hour). That’s why we’ve committed to paying much MORE than the National Apprenticeship Wage.

You’ll receive £7 per hour, with a guaranteed 30 hours a week. If you work more than an average of 40 hours a week in a month, you will topped up with National Living Wage (likely to be £11.46 in 2024).

This means you will earn AT LEAST £915 a month. The average homestay accommodation in Swanage is £600 including bills. Accommodation is NOT included as part of this apprenticeship, so you MUST be able to cover your rent and living costs for the 13-month period.
