Full Time, Permanent

Open Closing Date

Salary: £21,750 - £24,500

OEA Alternative Provision (Engagement) is looking for a creative and energetic qualified Instructor/Tutor who can connect with the young people we work with, build long-term trusting relationships, and inspire them to engage in the educational programmes we provide. The young people we work with present with various SEMH needs, Autism, ADHD, and MLD and may have school phobias or other needs.

You will need a subtle blend of charisma and energy alongside quiet confidence to be able to engage the young people who have been referred to us by our partner organisations. You will work on a 1:1 or 1:2 basis and will have the flexibility to use the fantastic outdoor venues of the Isle of Wight to motivate and inspire the young people you will work with and support them to gain recognised awards in a range of academic and vocational subjects.

Benefits:

· A fully funded staff assistance and counselling programme

· Fully funded CPD with recognised qualifications, including teacher training, NGB awards, and academic awards.

· Clear and transparent career development routes.

· Monday to Friday working.

· A minimum of 6 weeks holiday per year, with routes to increase significantly.

OEA works with all the Isle of Wight high schools and many primary schools. We are an approved provider for the IWC SEN department to deliver individualised tuition and a range of pathway options, including animal care, forest school, outdoor sport, and construction. All students benefit from dedicated subject lessons or embedded core skills, and all gain qualifications and awards. We are an exam centre for many formal (RQF) awards.

Requirements:

· Tutor Award or Trauma & MH Practitioner Award (L4 or above) or be prepared to work towards one.

· Construction Award or significant experience

· Animal Care Award

· Forest School Award

· Climbing Walls Award

· Mountain Bike Leader Level 2

· Watersport Leadership Award

You will be supported and encouraged to develop your teaching and therapeutic skills and qualifications with a range of funded courses that will be matched to your career objectives.

You must have a full driving licence, access to a suitable vehicle and be willing to drive each day, as collecting students and working remotely is a key part of your day.

Type: Full Time/Permanent

Salary: £21,750 - £24,500
