Freelance Outdoor Instructors with Adventure Expeditions and Adventure Expertise

Adventure Expeditions and Adventure Expertise are looking to expand their team of freelance instructors thanks to a significant increase in work on activity-programmes, DofE expeditions, NGB courses and climbing courses/guiding. Adventure Expeditions is a not-for profit organisation and a leading provider of DofE and outdoor-activity programmes in the UK. Our sister-company, Adventure Expertise, is a well-respected provider of skills courses, NGB’s & guiding in summer and winter. We’re focused on delivering the best possible genuine outdoor adventure and increasing participation amongst groups who would otherwise struggle to access outdoor opportunities. Our experienced, friendly and highly-skilled freelancers are essential to everything that we achieve and we’re please to have opportunities to welcome new instructors to the team in 2022.

Successful applicants with the relevant skills would have the opportunity to work on a variety of our programmes. Our offices and training base are in Hathersage, in the Peak District but we work UK-wide and overseas.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED: We are looking for minimum qualifications of RCI/ML (Ideally both), 1st Aid and DBS. The DofE Assessor qualification is very desirable for those instructors looking for DofE/ML work. We are also looking for people with the MCI/WML/WMCI awards to expand the Adventure Expertise Freelance team.

PAY: £135 - £180/day dependent work undertaken, plus travel expenses for DofE programmes.

RESPONSE PROCESS: Please email us on, attaching a current CV and requesting to be contacted about our induction opportunities. We run a series of induction days throughout the winter and early spring which we’ll invite you to and we’ll add you to our mailing list for 2022 work.
