Freelance Outdoor Instructors with Adventure Expeditions

Adventure Expeditions is looking for an experienced Outdoor Instructor to join our SAFE Programme delivery team. SAFE is a Department for Education-funded initiative targeted toward young people in mainstream education who are at risk of becoming involved in serious youth violence.

We aim to give participants the tools and confidence to make positive choices that allow them to reengage with their education. The programme, based in the Peak District, uses outdoor adventurous activities and bushcraft sessions as a platform for social skills development and mentoring. This includes outdoor and indoor climbing sessions, weaselling, bouldering, abseiling, bushcraft, whittling and outdoor cooking.

Experience of working in these environments, and with vulnerable young people, would be beneficial. The ideal applicant would work well within a team, be an effective communicator, and have strategies to deal with challenging behaviour.

Our SAFE Programme is delivered during term time, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. It will run until April 2025.

The freelance rate of pay is £120 - £160/day dependent on experience and qualifications.

Desired qualifications include LLA/HML/ML/RCI/LCMLA/Bushcraft Competency Award, First Aid and DBS.
