Ambassadors & Advisors

Meet the IOL Ambassadors and Advisors

Ambassadors for the Institute for Outdoor Learning

The Institute appoints Ambassadors who support the work of IOL and want to inspire more people to get out, active and explore the outdoors. Our ambassadors play a valuable role in giving the IOL Vision greater visibility in media, with associated groups and organisations, and the wider public in the Home Nations and UK.

Iolo Williams is a Welsh naturalist, broadcaster, public speaker and writer who’s worked in conservation for over 30 years. He is most widely known as a popular member of the Springwatch, Autumnwatch and Winterwatch presenting team and for presenting series such as Wild Wales, Rugged Wales and Great Welsh Parks for BBC 2.

Neal Anderson, IOL Professional Standards Manager and Lun Roberts, IOL Cymru Co-ordinator say:

‘When Iolo Williams spoke at our conference in October of last year he told us he was delighted to meet so many people as committed to caring for the environment and to fostering people’s connection to it as he is. We are now very pleased to announce that he has agreed to become our ambassador and to spread the word about the work we do.’

'Pan fu Iolo Williams yn annerch ein cynhadledd y llynedd, dywedodd wrthym ei fod wrth ei fodd fod cymaint wedi ymroi i ofalu am yr amgylchedd a hybu cysylltiad pobl gyda'r byd o'u cwmpas. Rydym bellach yn falch o allu cyhoeddi ei fod wedi cytuno i fod yn llysgennad ar ein rhan, a rhannu’r hyn yr ydym yn ei wneud gydag eraill'
