Is it for me?
The IOL Leadership Workshop is not for everyone. It is likely participants will be an experienced practitioner of outdoor learning and will be involved in making local and strategic decisions. Past participants have included centre managers, senior instructors, company directors, outdoor education advisors, NGB specialists, and training consultants.
You may well hold an APIOL and will be looking for CPD to improve your self-awareness and your practice. You will want knowledge, skills and options to meet current challenges and further your career.

Who leads the workshop?
Neal Anderson is a valued psychology consultant working with within the private and public sector and with elite competitors. He is a Qualified Teacher, UKCP Registered Psychotherapist & Supervisor, the elected chair of the IOL North West Region, the Project Manager for the Outdoor Trailblazer Apprenticeship group and the IOL Professional Standards Manager. His outdoor learning career includes instructing, teaching and leading outdoor centres and a range of transformational projects (Allnatt, Outward Bound, Brathay).
Andy Robinson is the IOL CEO, Chief Executive of Lindley Educational Trust and an organisational consultant and will lead sessions on the wider outdoor sector.
Is the workshop required for LPIOL?
Absolutely not. However, the IOL Strategic Leadership workshop is highly recommended to connect with and develop your the required strategic attitude and approach for LPIOL.
