The IOL Bushcraft Competency Certificate is designed for instructors, leaders and teachers who want to demonstrate that they follow good practice and have a high level of safety and competency in a range of bushcraft skills.
It is a respected and valued award created by leaders in the field - the IOL Bushcraft Professional Practice group. The full award includes:
- The essential knowledge and skills of a Bushcraft Instructor
- 8 units of study following the IOL Statement of Good Practice for Bushcraft Competency
- 3 Days Training, 120 Hours Consolidation, 1 Day Assessment
- Good practice when sharing bushcraft techniques with others – teaching skills, safety, site management and legal considerations
- Ability to deliver level 1 and level 2 bushcraft courses

The Bushcraft Competency Certificate training course is only available from IOL Organisational Members who have met the IOL Accredited Course criteria, agreed to follow the Bushcraft Professional Practice Group (PPG) guidelines, and been approved by the Bushcraft PPG to deliver the course.
