Since the NAOE/IOL publication of Reviewing Adventures in 1996 Roger has been training outdoor educators and trainers around the world in how to facilitate learning while outdoors (and in many different kinds of weather!). Now you can spend the day with Roger on an outdoor journey - a start and stop walk of about 5 miles in a quiet part of Grizedale Forest. The whole day will be spent looking at reviewing on the move, in the outdoors, using place, space and found objects as reviewing aids.
Meeting place: we will be sending out details about which Grizedale car park this will be to those who book.
Start and Finish times
Please meet Roger at 9am for a 9.15 start. The day will finish around 4pm.
If you arrive late, you could catch us up (route to be decided) but it is far better to arrive on time because the workshop begins as soon as we start walking.
What should I bring?
- It is a pay and display car park.
- The day will be "on the hoof", so dress for a day outside and bring all you need for the day (such as full waterproofs, hats, gloves, food, drink, notebook, torch, etc).
- There is a surprising amount of shelter on this 5 mile forest walk which means that we will be doing the full 5 miles whatever the weather - so be prepared for any weather and muddy conditions.
It is a varied circular route that deliberately designed to pass through a whole range of different environments - suitable for a variety of reviewing methods and for one or two activities creating experiences to review.
