Access to Church Beck Coniston
Following the installation of the new hydro electric power scheme into Church Beck the land owner has confirmed that he is agreeable for those signed up to the original Church Beck User Agreement to be able to use the ghyll again. It is very important that users continue to respect the conditions of the agreement, as use of the gyhll will still be monitored by the land owner and his land agent.
NOTE: Please note that the access point by the foot bridge next to the generator house is obstructed by some pipes covered with orange netting. Some of this area is also very muddy. For the time being please walk around these and avoid the mud by entering the ghyll above this area. Although this sounds obvious it is important to get things off to a good start. Users should also note that the grounds that groups will cross at Dixon Ground is now owned by one of Major Hext's daughters and her husband. They have no objection to groups going to the ghyll, but we do need to respect their property.
