About IOL Members and Membership
- We have active members within UK regions and home nations. Membership is open to individuals and organisations. Whether you are looking to widen your network of contacts, further your career, find deals on insurance, gear or publications, we have the member benefits to provide all these and more.
- Special interest groups within IOL lobby government and work on your behalf to highlight the profile and issues within our diverse, exciting and expanding field.
- Choosing to join the IOL is a career decision that will have an important impact on your work and recreation outdoors. Membership brings professional recognition and a wide range of support services that will aid your development throughout your working life.
- The Institute encourages participation in outdoor learning by developing quality, safety and opportunity in outdoor provision and by supporting and enhancing the good practice of those who work in the field. We support these aims with an uncompromising commitment to excellence, supported by our policies of environmental sustainability and management of diversity.
IOL is your organisation, something you can contribute to and, with others, improve your chosen profession.

Sponsorship Opportunity - Extended
We had a large response from members who were interested in sponsoring the reverse of the new membership cards for 2007. This space has now been taken by a membership organisation.
As only one organisation/member could use this space we have looked at other ways of helping members promote themselves to IOL members and have decided to print a leaflet that will go out to all members with their membership confirmation pack or renewal for 2007. There will be space on this sheet to advertise or promote your organisation, in full colour, with prices that start from under £50. You can use the space in any way you like.
- Sizes start with a space measuring 80mm wide x 20mm deep.
- Next is 80mm wide x 40mm deep.
- The largest size will be 80mm wide x 125mm deep.
