Outdoor Activity Worker : Ref: 2348

(Youth and Community Support Workers Range (second level), Points 11 to 14, currently £19,362 to £22,083 per annum)

Required from 1st June 2008.

 

Bury Youth Service is seeking an enthusiastic and committed person to deliver outdoor activities to young people in the borough. The Youth Service offers outdoor education opportunities to all young people aged 13-19 but prioritises and targets those who are vulnerable and disadvantaged.

 

You will ensure that activities offer an integrated approach to youth support as identified in the Youth Service plan and arrange for the loan of outdoor activity equipment ensuring it is fit for purpose and will include the maintenance of the register for authorised drivers for the service mini buses.

 

Relevant experience of working with young people in a variety of settings, using a variety of methodologies and evidence of planning, delivering and evaluating activity programmes that lead to political and social development of young people is essential.

 

The post is for 37 hours per week, in accordance with service requirements.

 

Appointment is subject to a satisfactory enhanced disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau.
